It wasn’t that long ago when acne (Zits) was considered a curse for the many individuals that suffer from this problem; but this is a skin condition that can be treated. Owing the widespread nature of this condition, scientific research into this area is intense; as a consequence, many of these new treatments are very affective. We can classify acne skin care products into 3 broad categories:
* Internet or Drugstore: Treatment that helps prevents condition
* Over-the-counter
* Specialized, on-prescription acne products
Many skin care products are used as a measure to prevent acne; for example, special toners and skin cleansers. Whilst many sufferers use these products there are even more who just want to keep their skin clean and conditioned; often this is irrespective of whether or not there is a problem condition. More specialized cleaners are designed in the same way as acne skin care products; devised primarily to limit the amount of oil or sebum forming in the pores. Excess oil needs to be stopped from clogging the pores as this oil make it easier for bacteria to grow, exacerbating the condition.
This type of skin care treatment also includes those which exfoliate such as skin peels; most can even be purchased over the Internet in addition to normal outlets. This type of peel helps reduce the chance of oil clogging up the pores as well as removing other skin impurities; this can reduce the bacterium growth on your skin. There are specialized acne skin care products available over-the-counter, they do not require the need of a prescription. Most of these creams etc. are based on benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid, both of which are the enemies of bacteria (and hence acne); they work by removing the excess oil from the skin and halt the growth of acne.
