The colon is the last part of the digestive tract. It is the place where the body removes solid waste, water and salts and is the site in fermentation of unabsorbed material occurs. Cleansing the colon is a great way of detoxifying the body. Many toxins deposit in the body over a period of time. The chemical processes by which the body operates creates toxic waste products which are swept away by the circulatory and lymphatic systems and ultimately eliminated. Over time these toxins which are not removed in the process get collected in the tissues of the body. The average person is carrying around 5 to 25 pounds of compacted fecal matter in their colons.

Many of the contaminants assaulting us daily include air pollution, poor water quality, chemicals, pesticides, steroids and hormones in our food, medication and processed food filled with preservatives.

The liver, as a by-product of metabolism may have created these toxins and not removed them. Toxins can collect during the transportation and filtration process in the kidneys, blood stream or lymphatic system. Also, poor circulation and gravity can cause toxins collecting in the feet.
